Did You Know?

An arboretum has been created just inside the entrance to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Twenty-one trees (and more to come) have been planted in the parkland area and gravel parkways meander through the grass and shrub. The new trees include Apodytes dimidiata (White pear),Curtisia dentata (Assegaibos), Rapanea melanophloeos (Boekenhout), Cunonia capensis (Butterspoons) and Celtis africana (Witstinkhout). The arboretum is in memory of Chris and Elwen van Schouwen, friends of Fernkloof.
